All of the live sessions will be held on the emeeting software, Blackboard Collaborate. In order to fully participate in the sessions, you’ll want to do a quick equipment check first. You will need:
- Computer or iPad with an internet connection
- A microphone (built-in or plug-in)
How to Connect to the Webinars
In order to make sure that everything runs smoothly, we are requiring that all participants test their equipment no later than 24 hours before the Participant Open House. Please be sure to test out Blackboard Collaborate on the computer or iPad that you will use to attend the webinars.

[box]To Connect by Computer- Go to the URL below to check your system requirements at
http://support.blackboardcollaborate.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=8336&task=knowledge&questionID=1473 - You should see two green check marks letting you know that you have the correct plugins on your computer. If not, you may need to reinstall Java. You can install the latest version of the plugin at http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp
- Once you are all set to run Collaborate, visit our meeting room link at http://bit.ly/nswebinars2013
- On the Session Login screen, fill in your name in the Display Name field and hit Submit.
- You may be asked to open a jnlp file – hit Open. Otherwise, skip to the next step.
- Additionally, a security box will appear – hit Run again. Otherwise, skip to the next step.
- Collaborate will begin to open – it may prompt you to set your browser speed. If so, choose Cable/DSL and click Ok.
- A new window will open and you will then be taken into the meeting room.
- Click on the Audio Setup Wizard Icon at the top of the screen to configure your audio, following the prompts.
- Once you have run the audio setup wizard, you are ready to begin. At any time, please feel free to ask questions and leave feedback for the presenters in the chat box.
- Click on the App Store icon.
- Download the free Blackboard Collaborate TM Mobile app.
- Once you have downloaded the app, open Safari on your iPad.
- Type in our meeting room link: http://bit.ly/nswebinars2013
- On the Session Login screen, fill in your name in the Display Name field and hit Submit.
- You will be redirected to the Blackboard Collaborate app and connected to the meeting room.
