About Us
Since its inception in 2006, NOVASTARTALK has worked to create face-to-face and online opportunities for teachers of all of the STARTALK languages to create, collaborate and share technology-enhanced classroom resources for standards-based language instruction.
Face-to-Face Summer Institute
Our face-to-face workshop is open to teachers of all STARTALK languages. Held in the Alexandria Campus of Northern Virginia Community College, participants learn practical tech tools chosen for their ability to engage students and support standards-based teaching and learning.
Annual Webinar Series
Instructors join us from across the globe for our free webinar series as a way to keep up with the tech tools that they’ve learned in the summer institute, connect with their colleagues throughout the year, and learn from celebrated masters of teaching with technology.
Hands-On Tutorial Database
Access online lessons on each of the applications and tools taught in our summer institute and webinar series in real-time. Each lesson includes instructions for usage, examples of the tool in action, alignment to the standards, and recommendations for how to incorporate it into your curriculum.
